Franschoek Wine tram - Red line

Franschhoek is no secret wine valley. Boasting a variety of MCC and tasting rooms with views that will make you think you are in Champagne only to be reminded that SA is just that unbelievable. So why don't you spoil a loved one and book a room at a local BNB or lodge for a romantic weekend, declaring your gaga-ness over sips of bubbles? If staying in Franschhoek is not enough, book a ticket aboard the wine tram and safely visit a decent amount of farms in a day.

Cost: The cost of doing this route is currently R220pp excluding the cost of wine tasting. The cost of wine tasting is usually discounted for tram ticket holders so expect to pay an additional R160-R400 for tastings, depending on the tasting option you prefer.

Our wine tram experience

We started our tasting experience around 12pm and followed the red line. We only managed to stop at 4 of the 8 farms due to time.

Stop 1: Rickety Bridge

Stop 2: Grande Provence

Stop 3: Haute Cabriere (No longer on tour)

Stop 4: Dieu Donne

Stop 5: Chamonix

About blog

Z.s

This blog is aimed at providing an overview of whats naturally out there. It's purely based on my own experiences and level of expertise.

You will find information on hiking routes, wine farm pictures more so than reviews and a smidge of adrenaline activities.

Most of the content is CPT, ZAR specific. I try not to get too detailed and also use mainly entry-level, unfiltered camera phone pictures.

I hope that you will be left with enough information to Get-Ta-Step'n aka DALA!
