6 Cape Town picnic areas that are ideal for kids

Outside of going to the beach or a municipal park; Cape Town has some less known kid-friendly outdoor venues. Below I have listed 6 that are top of mind and fun for the whole family.
1. Little Streams - Constantia
Facilities: Restaurant - Light meals, teas and cakes
Things to do: River stream, spider and swing ropes, picnic
Cost: Free
2. Admiral waterfall - Simonstown
Facilities: Non
Things to do: Short walk up to waterfall. Areal view of Simonstown
Cost: Free
3. Shipwreck circuit trail - Cape Point
Facilities: Bathrooms, Restaurant and Cafe at the Deli
Things to do: 5km circular walk, scavenger hunt, scout for ostriches or baboons
Cost: R40 children, R90 for adults. Free if you have a wild / green card.

4. The Riverside - Franschhoek
Facilities: Bathrooms, braai stands , picnic tables, water tubes, tuckshop.
Things to do: Tubing, swimming, picnic, braai.
Cost: R30 children, R70 adults
5. Joostenberg - Stellenbosch
Facilities: Deli,brewery , wine sales, picnic tables
Things to do: craft beer tasting, pony rides, picnic
Cost: Free
6. Tygerberg nature reserve - Plattekloof
Facilities: Bathroom, picnic tables
Things to do: hike, picnic
Cost: Free
